Café Calm

Café calm runs every Wednesday during term time, offering refreshments and cake, with soup at lunchtime, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Come along and taste both the delights of what’s offered and the peaceful surroundings. You will be always greeted with a smile.

Life Groups

What are life groups?
As a growing church, we want to ensure that everyone who joins the St Lawrence Church family has a place to belong. Life Groups are groups that aim to encourage us towards Christian growth and provide opportunities for making a greater impact in our community. If you haven’t yet joined one yet, St Lawrence has groups meeting both daytime and evening throughout the week in homes.

Why join a life Group?
Being part of a Life Group is a great way to feel a part of the church family, build relationships and to grow alongside others in our walk with Jesus.
How do I join a Life Group? Please contact a group leader or speak to Phil.

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions to discuss the Christian faith in an informal, fun and friendly environment. Alpha consists of 10 talks, looking at topics including 'Who is Jesus?' and 'Why and how do I pray?' We meet for dinner and then each talk is followed by discussion in small groups. You don’t have to come for the whole term – just pop along for the first session and see what you think. No pressure.

Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone; no question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish. We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome.

Children and Youth

Every Sunday we offer groups for all ages for our children and youth. All children are welcome.

Smarties is a wonderful place for parents and toddlers to come together and meet each other. There is the opportunity for play, bible stories, singing and lots of fun. This runs during term time, so please see the website diary for times and details.

Women’s Ministry

Through out the year, our women’s ministry team run a number of breakfasts, lead by Mrs. Sue Noble. There is a delicious continental breakfast followed by a guest speaker talking on a number of different faith and life topics.

We have a fabulous team who organize our flowers, lead by Mrs Mary Moody. As well as the week by week displays, we also host flower festivals and can offer flower arrangments for weddings.

Social Events
Throughout the year there are a number of events that bring our church family together and fun activities for the whole community; from car boot sales, harvest lorry rides, games nights and everything in between. Please see the diary for details.

St Lawrence Parish Church has a strong tradition in supporting missions and missionaries, whether local or abroad. We have close links to a number of individuals and charities, which we support through our regular giving, and also one-off donations. In addition we have a number of church members who are actively involved in these missions and supporters of them.

Below is a list of our main partners. Please visit the respective websites for further information, or contact the church office if you would like to know more.
